Polyus says Sukhoi Log world’s top gold mine with 40 mln oz reserve
MOSCOW, Oct 22 (PRIME) -- Russian gold producer Polyus has produced a maiden ore reserve estimate for the Sukhoi Log gold deposit of 40 million ounces or 1,244 tonnes of primary gold reserves, while mineral resources of gold stand at 67 million ounces or 2,084 tonnes as of May 31, 2020, the company said in a statement on Thursday.
“We are also progressing well with the development of our flagship greenfield project, Sukhoi Log. We have today published a Maiden Ore Reserve estimate, of 40 million ounces at a grade of 2.3 grams per tonne, confirming Sukhoi Log as the largest gold deposit globally, both among greenfields and operating gold mines,” the company said quoting CEO Pavel Grachyov.
Mineral reserves stand at 1,110 million tonnes with an average grade of 1.9 grams per tonne, it said.
